Six Years, All Systems Normal

Six Years, All Systems Normal

Today, December 13th, is a hugely important day for AlterCPA and our entire team! You could call it a birthday! Exactly six years ago, an idea was born and a project got underway — one that, a couple of years later, turned into AlterCPA Professional, the platform for building affiliate networks!

Two good friends — Anton and Vlad — suddenly decided to turn their attention to a field as interesting as traffic arbitrage. Back then, in the distant year of 2013, it seemed like something completely new and unexplored. They bought up product, poured in traffic, set up logistics, and — exactly as you’d expect — fucked it all up. They moped for a bit, took the lessons from that defeat to heart, and gave it another shot. They set up their own small affiliate network, WMsale, and inside of a year had fucked that up too.

Did you think success stories start with a string of lucky breaks? No. No, and no again. The AlterCPA platform was born from the code of a collapsed affiliate network, which itself was built on the CRM system from that first failed venture as an advertiser.

Four years ago, on November 14, 2015, that very same affiliate network’s source code got posted on GitHub on a simple principle: no sense letting good stuff go to waste, maybe it’ll come in handy for someone. It sat there for a year without a shred of interest from the global CPA community. Then, in the middle of December 2016, something strange happened — three people, at the same time and completely independently of each other, suddenly took an interest in the platform. They pooled their money, gave the developer a hefty magic kick in the pants for motivation, and got the first closed version of AlterCPA 2.0.

And off it went… Three years and tens of thousands of lines of code later, we’re presenting you with a new version of the best (purely in the opinion of our users, of course) CPA platform in the world. Today you’ve got three releases waiting for you — one big one and a couple of smaller ones. Stay tuned.
